“Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.”
Philippians 4:6 (KJV)
What Philippians 4:6 means
“Careful” here means anxious. The verse isn’t telling you to ignore what’s weighing on you — it’s telling you where to take it. Instead of carrying the worry, hand God the actual thing, by name, in prayer. And do it with thanksgiving, remembering what He’s already done. Worry keeps it in your hands; prayer puts it in His.
Today’s prayer
Father, I’ve been carrying worries I was never meant to hold. Right now I bring them to You by name, and I thank You for every way You’ve already come through. Trade my anxiety for Your peace. In Jesus’ name, amen.
