“Blessed is the man that trusteth in the LORD, and whose hope the LORD is.”
Jeremiah 17:7 (KJV)
What Jeremiah 17:7 means
It’s natural to put our confidence in what we can see — our own effort, our plans, people, a paycheck. But Jeremiah says the person who truly trusts the LORD, and makes Him their hope, is blessed. Trust isn’t just believing God exists; it’s leaning your full weight on Him, especially when things feel shaky. When your hope is anchored in Him instead of in your circumstances, you become steady — rooted, settled, able to stand through whatever comes. Put your trust where it won’t be shaken.
Today’s prayer
Father, I put my trust in You today. When I’m tempted to lean on my own strength, remind me that You are my hope. Let my confidence rest in You alone, and keep my heart steady and blessed because it trusts in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.
