“I know that thou canst do every thing, and that no thought can be withholden from thee.”
Job 42:2 (KJV)
What Job 42:2 means
This is what Job finally says after losing everything and arguing with God through chapter after chapter: “I know that You can do anything, and nothing You plan can be stopped.” It’s not a verse for when life is easy — it’s the settled place you land after the storm. Whatever you’re staring at today, God isn’t limited by it, and His purpose for you can’t be blocked by it. Trust the One who can do everything.
Today’s prayer
Father, I confess that I’ve been measuring my situation by what I can do instead of what You can do. Today I say what Job said: You can do everything, and nothing You’ve planned can be stopped. Settle my heart in that truth. In Jesus’ name, amen.
